Authenticity can be a bone of contention within the Western scene, unless someone has a real TARDIS we will never know for sure what was worn exactly. To this point I'd advise all those wanting to get into Authentic reenacting or living History to buy certain books
1) I can tell by your outfit.
2)Peter Sherayko, Guns and Gear of Tombstone.
3) Peter Sherayko, Fringes of Hollywood
4) Packing Iron
There are many others but those ones above are definnatly good source material, yes some books are expensive, but you can get Peter Sherayko books now as 2nd and 3rd prints in paperback. Use a company called Abe books as they have access to books in the States, EU and the UK. Any one interested in the authentic side of the hobby and are not members of OLS I'd suggest you make enquiry's if you live down south I can help out with suggestions of clubs as well. I will try and get to a few FDUK events this year when possible and bring along some of the books I use for folks to look at. I wiil post more articles up as I think on them. Tyrell.
